Responsible Business & Sustainability

Technology that's good for people and the planet.

We believe a business is only truly successful if it creates value for everyone it touches , its users, its employees, its communities, and the environment. This is how we hold ourselves accountable.

Our commitment

From day one, Avonia was built on the principle that powerful technology should be accessible to everyone , regardless of language, income, or geography. That principle extends beyond our products. It shapes how we hire, how we operate, how we use energy, and how we engage with the communities we serve.

We are a young company with ambitious plans. We do not claim to have all the answers on sustainability. What we do commit to is transparency about where we are, honesty about where we fall short, and measurable progress every year.

Our six pillars

Digital Inclusion

We design every product to work for users who lack fast internet, expensive devices, or formal bank accounts , because inclusion is not a feature, it is the foundation.

Environmental Responsibility

We run our cloud infrastructure on renewable-energy data centres, optimise for efficient code to reduce server load, and operate a largely remote workforce to minimise commuting emissions.

Community Investment

Through the Avonia Foundation, we fund digital literacy programmes, legal awareness campaigns, and coding bootcamps in underserved communities across Africa and beyond.

Data Ethics & Privacy

User data is never sold. We collect the minimum required for our products to work, store it securely, and give users full control over their information.

Inclusive Employment

We actively hire from communities that are underrepresented in African tech , including women, people with disabilities, and candidates from rural areas.

Access to Justice

MySheria's free tier ensures that anyone facing a legal emergency can access guidance, document templates, and emergency resources , regardless of their ability to pay.
