We operate five digital platforms: MySheria, MySheria Suite, Sokonia, Ngomera, and Pawania. This Privacy Policy applies to all of these platforms and to our corporate website at avonia.co.tz unless a platform has its own dedicated privacy policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly: When you create an account, use our services, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, location, payment information, and any content you submit.

Information collected automatically: When you use our platforms, we automatically collect device identifiers, IP addresses, browser type, operating system, pages visited, time spent, and click-through data.

Information from third parties: We may receive information from payment processors, identity verification services, social login providers, and analytics partners.

Sensitive information: Some of our services (particularly MySheria) may involve sensitive categories of data such as legal matters, health information, or financial data. We apply heightened protection to all such data.

We use personal data to: provide and improve our services; process transactions; send service-related communications; enforce our terms; comply with legal obligations; detect and prevent fraud; conduct research and analytics; and personalise your experience.

We will only send you marketing communications if you have consented to receive them. You may withdraw this consent at any time.

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR & applicable law)

Where applicable, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data: performance of a contract; compliance with a legal obligation; our legitimate interests (where these are not overridden by your rights); and your explicit consent.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share your data only with: service providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements; law enforcement or regulators when legally required; business partners where you have consented to such sharing; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

6. International transfers

Avonia operates across multiple countries. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your home jurisdiction. Where data is transferred outside Africa, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms).

7. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with our legal obligations. When data is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@avonia.co.tz. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including end-to-end encryption, access controls, regular security audits, and staff training. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we will notify you promptly in the event of a data breach that affects your rights.
